    ARRRGGH!!
I take it back~ These new shoes are not comfy. They are starting to rub on the sides of my feet. This is the 3rd sandal I've bought  that's disappointed me. Even my sassari's are rubbing a bit too much and I don't think I can wear those to work! Come on I have some seriously cute lavender painted toes to show off here. I don't think I can return these Target ones as I've worn them all day and they were only $12 but I'm getting seriously discouraged here.

It's like Friday without bagels and donuts!
    Last night I accomplished:
Getting fruit for cookout. Also picked up CSA. I got sugar snap peas!!
    SOFT STUFF
And not killing anything although  a moth came in inside a plastic bag but before I could get him outside Vespa ate him. But that wasn't me!
I didn't feel very good last night so I didn't hit the gym. Could that have had something to do with skipping dinner and hitting Soft Stuff? MAYBE! But still I must go to the gym tonight. No excuses accepted!
I did see the Family Guy where they do the Who's the Boss parade floats. Tony bathing Jonathan! That one gets me every time. :)
We also went to Target to get some running shoes for Lars, I got comfy sandals for myself. They are flats  although I have to walk differently in them or they come off my feets.
This was posted on [info]vintage_ads. It's hilarious.

    FRIG!!
I didn't get to my Netflix queue in time to prevent  Master of Horror Series: The Black Cat from being sent out to me next. There's a DVD I'll have for a while.
I feel sick to my stomach, I can't wait until 5:45.
    What to do tonight?
    1) Buy fruit for cookout
    2) Scrouge up some din din
    3) Talk Lars into going to Soft Stuff
    4) TRY NOT TO KILL ANYTHING
    5) Go to the gym

Have I mentioned that gym employees have started to recognize me now? I'm a gymrat oh noes! Now I feel that I can't wear the same workout clothes several days in a row. Thanks for the added pressure guys!

[info]salami_salome showed me part of this video last month and I LOST IT!!
It's on cute overload today with some additional footage and I showed it to a co worker and started crying all over again! It's just one of the most touching things I've ever seen!

    Gassy issues and lunch
Yesterday I went to the oz. Chophouse for lunch. No one knows how to pronounce this by the way. Is it "ounce" is it "O-Z" is it "OZ"? I've heard the staff say multiple variations. Anyway I had 2 sides: steamed brocolli with a generous helping of truffled macaroni and cheese. The cheese was all crusty on top! Corkscrew pasta! That was a fine lunch for under $10.
Today I have leftover Jamaican Cook-up, chocolate covered sunflower seeds(watch out!) and wonderful low fat low sugar brown rice marshmallow  treats (like rice crispies but better!).

    Totally unrelated story!
Lars mentioned on the weekend of the 21 on [info]salami_salome's move that he spied gas for under $4 in Laurel. He saw it again last weekend during [info]devolutionary 's move. When he pulled up to the tank he realized it was a bait and switch....It was $3.98 WITH CAR WASH. Which came to $4.07 the average in the area. FUCKERS!

    I can't believe me!
I made it through the workday!!! Also, I've made it through 2 days without washing my hair with shampoo and it still feels as fresh as a daisy.  One of my coworkers informed me that I may want to keep an eye out on my boxes tomorrow as my courier may not show up. Apparently somebody in the building saw him hit a car and drive away? I didn't see anything myself but tomorrow should prove interesting! I'm going to try to keep out of that drama as much as possible since I didn't witness a damn thing.

Gotta run, I've got a date with my heating pad and the couch.

    My weekend
    I had a decent weekend!
On Friday I was feeling pretty tired so I went to bed earlyish but before that I made Jamaican Cook-up with collards and black soy beans for dinner. It had carrots and rice too. I saw Dr. Who (it was actually watchable this week).  And then we went on the hunt for my elusive hair dye, it's not the easiest color to find apparently.  We were unsuccessful. Fell into bed without working out.
Saturdday dyed hair extremely blond so I can dye it reddish blond later. I went to the Salvation army, Goodwill and Good Stuff Cheap. I got a couple decent things which I'll post later when I download the pictures off my camera. Then I found my elusive hair dye!  Later that evening Lars and I went with Christie and Jen to Victoria's Gastro pub where I got my favorite: Lobster Grilled cheese!! They also had a new dessert called Tasty cake which predictably tastes just like a Tasty Cake!! Freakin' good! Then we all went back to my house and hung out and talked, it was a great evening. At about 1:00 am I decided to go to the gym. As I'm driving there I almost missed my turn onto the street where the gym is located because my landmark, Three Brothers Pizza sign, is completely dark. Turns out the that shopping center is dark, the shopping center on the other side is dark and of course the gym is dark too. *Sigh* So much for getting a workout!
Sunday I did a whole lot of nothing primarily. Lars was at work so I did laundry and I helped Lars make African Peanut Stew with Kale for dinner. I dyed my hair.  Jen came over and we watched "Walk Hard: the Dewey Cox story". Hysterical!!!! Remember how I saw Zoolander and Will Farrell was my hero? Well Tim Meadows is my new hero. :0
I do have a cute story though. Bea was sitting next to me on the chaise and Vespa jumps up in between us. Vespa head bonks Bea on the forehead. Bea then proceeds to lick Vespa's ears and head and nibbles on her head. The whole time Vespa is totally being a purrmonster! When Bea would stop Vespa would rub against her face and Bea would lick her again. It was sooo CUTE! Later Sputnik came up to Bea and head bonked her too. I guess they're pals!
Today I don't think I'm making it to the Peter Murphy concert because I feel like hell warmed over. I just want to sleep!!! I may even leave work early too so there!!

    A bit of humor...
    at my expense of course!
Now and then I'll check the search engines to see if anyone else has done my family genealogy. There has been much accomplished on my dad's maternal side of the family (posted before about this). It looks like there has been more work done though  as it turns out paternal grandmother's  side was all German all the time. Some fine fellow traced back a couple of lines on that side to other parts of Germany. These would be my great great grandmother and my great grandmother. My great great grandmother's line was traced back to 1500's Walsheim (included an innkeeper and a schoolteacher, so there's some cool info), my great grandmother's line arrived more recently, the 1700's. I look up the city where my great grandmother's family was from on Wikipedia : Weinheim. Note that it says: "The name Weinheim does not derive from wine, which is grown in the region, but rather from "Wino's Home".
Ok, verification is needed but I kind of hope it's true!
It goes along so well with my maiden name meaning: Rough and Crude.

    Afternoon update
I'm so tired!!! I was walking around the hallways with my eyes closed for a while because it just felt good.
Iron Maiden was playing at Merriweather post Pavilion last night.  I could hear "Run to the Hills" from my bedroom window. Usually I have to strain to really hear what is being played but it was very clear yesterday.  I 'm bummed I didn't get tickets,I bet it was a great show!

Yesterday I went out with Brian and got the Lobster Grilled cheese from Victoria's Gastro Pub. That is one amazing expensive sandwich!

A few days ago I received my CB I hate perfume order. I decided to try Patchouli Empire, Winter 1972 and Mr. Hulot's Holiday.
I was originally going to buy the water of the Patchouli empire but decided to get three 2 mls of three scents instead. I'm glad I did because Empire is really not working for me. It's a bit too green, honestly for a long time it reminds me of alfalfa! It dries down a little better but it's not very strong. I'm not really feeling the love.
Winter 1972 is fantastic! It starts off with a very "clean" or cold dirt smell, then it dries down to a scent resembling linen or cotton. Lovely!
Mr. Hulot's holiday is to die for! This lasted all day. It's aquatic and salty, this is one I will buy in a larger size!  One of my coworkers is buying At the Beach 1966, I'm very curious about this scent. She is very sentimental about the smell of old Coppertone tanning lotion and I can remember what it looks like but not it's odor.

    Squirrel business
I  walked out to my car yesterday morning, on the way to work, to find 5 baby squirrels chasing each other around and on my car! They were running under the car and over my tires. As I was taking  this extreme cuteness in I heard the mom above me in the tree giving the alarm to the kids but they didn't really know what to do. They just kept running around my car chasing each other and making little squeeky noises. I was trying to figure out how I was going to drive my car without hitting one of them! Finally I honked my horn and they all moved over to the right a little bit and I was able to drive away without any squirrely casualties.

    Dinner antics
Last night I made Lentils with spinach, carrots, tomatoes, onions, garlic and feta seasoned with ground ginger, cumin and cinnamon.
Lars and Brian scarfed it  down. When I asked Brian how he like it he replied: You would have made Neil proud!

    Movie Review
I watched Rob Zombie's Halloween last night...FINALLY. It was pretty good, I liked the way he handled Michael  Myers background. I thought the boy who played little Mike was very good, better than some adults in this movie! Rob Zombie's wife (Sherri Moon?) certainly had the looks of the aging stripper but I felt her acting wasn't very strong although through the circumstances I did feel a lot of sympathy for her character. The actress who played the Jamie Lee Curtis character was great. The masks were cool.
Anyway I just wanted to mention I loved the cameos and horror actors Rob Zombie chose for the parts.  I didn't even know Brad Dourif was in this! Dee Wallace played a great mom as usual, Danny Trejo as the sympathetic prison janitor! Ken Foree taking a dump! Udo Kier, Clint Howard, Sid Haig and of course I love Malcolm McDowell. My brother pointed out to me that one of the girl's friends in the movie was the little girl in Halloween 4 and 5, I recognized her only after he told me. BUT my proudest moment was recognizing Mickey Dolenz !
